Music Therapy
Music has a powerful way of bringing comfort, connection, and joy. At AFH at Silver Lake, our music-based activities are thoughtfully designed to meet residents where they are and awaken meaningful moments through:
Familiar, generational songs that spark memories
Gentle hand-holding while singing softly one-on-one
Upbeat music residents once loved to dance to
Quiet hymns shared in calm, personal sessions
Simple instruments for hands-on participation
Chair dancing, foot tapping, and gentle movement
Balloon tossing and parachute games set to music
Streamers and other fun, interactive props
Daily Exercise & Stretching
Each day, our caregivers lead seated stretching and light exercise sessions, typically between breakfast and lunch. With encouragement and hands-on support as needed, residents are guided through gentle movements that promote circulation, flexibility, and overall well-being in a safe, caring environment.
Professional Activity Coordination
Weekly themed activities celebrating holidays and seasons
Crafts offered at multiple ability levels so everyone can participate
Hands-on staff support to keep residents engaged and smiling
New creative projects each week to spark curiosity and excitement
Finished projects residents can proudly keep, display, or share with loved ones
