Music Therapy

Music has a powerful way of bringing comfort, connection, and joy. At AFH at Silver Lake, our music-based activities are thoughtfully designed to meet residents where they are and awaken meaningful moments through:

  • Familiar, generational songs that spark memories

  • Gentle hand-holding while singing softly one-on-one

  • Upbeat music residents once loved to dance to

  • Quiet hymns shared in calm, personal sessions

  • Simple instruments for hands-on participation

  • Chair dancing, foot tapping, and gentle movement

  • Balloon tossing and parachute games set to music

  • Streamers and other fun, interactive props

Daily Exercise & Stretching

Each day, our caregivers lead seated stretching and light exercise sessions, typically between breakfast and lunch. With encouragement and hands-on support as needed, residents are guided through gentle movements that promote circulation, flexibility, and overall well-being in a safe, caring environment.

Professional Activity Coordination

  • Weekly themed activities celebrating holidays and seasons

  • Crafts offered at multiple ability levels so everyone can participate

  • Hands-on staff support to keep residents engaged and smiling

  • New creative projects each week to spark curiosity and excitement

  • Finished projects residents can proudly keep, display, or share with loved ones
